Asahakuryu, Asasuiryu and Asanoyama

The previous time three Rikishi from the same stable had been promoted to Juryo at the same time, was in September 1979. The Rikishi were Kotonoryu, Kotochitose and Kototateyama from Sadogatake Stable.

Juryo Return Asanoyama

Asanoyama has returned to Juryo. He previously held a rank here in September 2024. A Rikishi reaching Juryo, falling back to Sandanme, and climbing back up to Juryo twice has never happened in history before.

Juryo Debut Nishinoryu

Nishinoryu is the 11th Rikishi from Sakaigawa Stable to be promoted to Juryo since the current stablemaster founded it. The previous Rikishi was Tsushimanada, promoted in November 2022. His father is the former Makuuchi Rikishi Tsunenoyama. Both are the 14th father-son duo in history to achieve this.

Juryo Debut Kyokukaiyu

Kyokukaiyu is the first Rikishi from Oshima Stable to reach Juryo since the current stablemaster established it.

Juryo Debut Asasuiryu

Asasuiryu is the younger brother to Asakoryu. They are the 24th pair of siblings in history to be promoted to Juryo.

Juryo Debut Asahakuryu

Asahakuryu is the 7th former student of Takushoku University to make his Juryo debut. The previous one was Takaryu, promoted in July 2015.

Makuuchi Debut Hitoshi

Hitoshi is the 11th Rikishi from Oitekaze Stable to make his Makuuchi debut since the current stablemaster founded it. The previous Rikishi was Tobizaru in September 2020. He is the 34th Rikishi post WWII from Tokyo to achieve this, following Tohakuryu, who was promoted in May 2023. Additionally, he is the 44th former student of Nihon University to achieve this, the previous one being Kusano, who was promoted in the last tournament.

Komusubi Debut Aonishiki

Aonishiki is the first Rikishi from Ajigawa Stable to reach the Komusubi rank since its establishment by the current stablemaster. He is the first Rikishi from Ukraine to achieve this. He has reached the Komusubi rank in just 12 tournaments since his professional debut in Maezumou, setting a new record for the fastest promotion, ahead of Konishiki, Asashoryu and Kotooshu who achieved the rank in 14 tournaments.
