Otsuji returns to Juryo, He previously held a rank in this division during the March basho this year.

Mitakeumi returns to Makuuchi. He previously held a rank in the division in March this year.

Hidenoumi returns to Makuuchi. He had been demoted from the division after the January basho in 2022.

Kotoeiho is the first Rikishi from Sadogatake Stable to be promoted to Makuuchi since his brother, Kotoshoho in Kotoshoho.

Fujinowaka (formerly Wakaikari) is the first Rikishi from Isenoumi Stable to reach the top division since Nishikigi in the May 2016 tournament.

Oshoma is the first Rikishi from Naruto Stable to reach the Komusubi-rank, since it was founded by the current stablemaster.

Onosato is the first newly promoted Yokozuna since Hoshoryu after the January 2025 basho, and the 75th in history.

He is the first to reach Yokozuna since the founding of Nishonoseki Stable by its current stablemaster.
